Out at the shop we have an 06' IC CE with a dead lamp check switch. About a month ago there had been a coolant leak on this bus around the heater hoses (next to the dash). This spray of hot coolant screwed the dash up pretty bad, and nothing would work (no working gauges or lamp check)
After a new dash was ordered and installed things seemed to work great, but now this morning the new dash's "lamp check" option will not work.
The boys (mechanics) at the shop were testing the fuse for "light monitor", but i think that may be for the large spot light over the door. Or am i wrong?
Any tips i can give them?
The have ordered a new switch for it, but it will take a few days to get here.
That makes perfect sense now. We don't have these monitors on our buses, just pilot lights for the warning lights. So this "light monitor" fuse is not being used to control anything.
On another note...The new "lamp check" switch should be here tomorrow. Apparently when the new dash was installed the mechanic working on the bus didn't check the lamp check feature to even see if it worked, so maybe it hadn't worked from day one of the install.
All we know is that the switch doesn't work now, and hopefully another new one will correct the issue.
