| Hi all, we have a 09 ic with maxforce 7 that cranks fine but no start.Scanned unit and found it was not building fuel rail pressure.Found low side pressure was not right and replaced secondary filter assembly.that helped low side loss but not high side. We shorted out fuel rail pressure sensor at computer still no start.Tested soleniods at high pressure pump.Resistance, dwell all at ic spec.blocked off high side lines one at a time still no start. pulled turbo and cover pump gear is good. Can this pump be tested or does this sound like this pump.Any help would be great.Thank you |

| Yep, low voltage somewhere. What's the warranty coverage? |
If it doesn't fit, FORCE it. If it breaks, well, it needed replacing anyway. Pullin' wrenches for 45 years. |

These engines are a ready suckers to get running if ran out of fuel. Here is Navstar iknow on the subject, myself I have better luck with the 2nd procedure, There is room to crack the lines to the heads, not much but can be done without removeing the turbo.
Priming the High Pressure Fuel System on MaxxForce 7 Engines
Applies To:
All MaxxForce 7 Engines Built 2007 through 2009
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DESCRIPTION Bleeding air from the high pressure fuel system on a MaxxForce 7 engine when the fuel system has been run out of fuel or opened for repairs. PROCEDURE There are two possible ways to try and bleed this system. 1. With the fuel system fully assembled, install the EZ-tech and run the Key On Engine Off Standard or Output State Test High repeatedly while someone pumps the hand primer at least 100 times. This procedure may need to be repeated. 2. If the previous procedure does not work then the fuel supply line at the high pressure fuel pump from the secondary fuel filter will have to be cracked loose. With this fitting loose on the pump the hand primer needs to be pumped until a steady stream of fuel comes out. Then with the fitting still loose, crank the engine to verify fuel is being supplied by the low pressure fuel pump. (Note: If the engine is fully assembled the turbo may have to be removed or the heat shield covering the high pressure fuel pump fittings for access to bleed this system.)
