We have a 2006 CE300 IC. The drivers advised that several times during the last two weeks when they activate the open door switch on the steering wheel, the red warning lights come on even though the warning light switch was not activated. The reds will not go off when thay close the door. The only way they can get them to shut off is to turn off the master switch. Of course we can not duplicate the problem in the shop. We have check the switch connections and the wires through the steering column and can not find anything wrong. A new switch is $ 118.22. I hate to throw parts at something just to see if it works. Has anyone else encountered this problem or have any ideas on what else to check?

I've had to replace most of the wheel switches in our 06's shortly after purchase, within the first yr or two, they were covered by IC warranty. they did the same as you say yours are doing or the red overheads would come on while driving straight down the road at 50 mph. If i remember correctly it seems like IC had been having a lot of problems with them, (this would have been back in 07 or 08) and there was a recall?, AFC or something at that time. if your switches are original or even if you have replaced? it's a good possibility they are the problem, might not be, but sounds quite similar. I've only got some 06 and 07 seven's with that style switch. we went back to dash switches from 08 and up. I'd ck with your dealer before having to purchase.

I was never able to duplicate problem in shop either, and since replacement haven't had a problem with them. some of the buses got new switches put in before having any problems. as IH/IC sent me new ones for all buses in fleet with that style switch
