Is anyone running the large single tire on their school buses? I have seen these allot in fleet magazines, but have to see any on a school bus.
Is so is anyone running them in high snow areas?

They were nixed at the school bus specifications conference the session before the last one. The probability of a single rear tire going flat and causing an accident was the main reason.
On another note the local cement truck drivers hate them because the ruts formed in the road by heavy dual wheeled truck present a handling problem ( units shift sideways and back ) and the same ruts hold water making hydroplaning a serious issue. We have a hard enough time with handling complaints as it is now.
