We run both cats eyes and crossfire on our buses the crossfires are accurate to +/- 10 psi. the cats eyes are more general, for the price we went back to cats eyes. Both equal out the pressure between the duals, but the thin window ( literally ) means more interaction with the drivers. Good or bad you decide.
Thanks for pointing me to the cats eyes, before that I had only found the crossfires. Has anyone noticed increased tire life with these systems? any issues with leaks or failures(I am sure alot has to do with a proper install). Any additional information will help me out trying to get a small district to spend this kind of money can be difficult but so far they are interested just need lots of good information, thank you.
Just about the same as any other part, as far as failures minimal. Tire wear improved, loss prevented (no major failures since install) visual ques for driver to take action. We made a tool out of a 1 1/2' 1/4"rod stock with a tee handle welded on one end and a piece of 1/2" open end wrench welded to the other, made it easier to tighten the ends of the hoses to the valve stems. Which by the way need to be checked at service times. We used supplied mounting brackets and half nuts to secure to axle studs.
