Currently looking for a good body shop to clear coat the bus body of my 2004 International/Blue Bird, 72 passenger (12 window/row) school bus. I'd like to preserve and protect the paint that's already on the bus for years to come. The bus body and paint are in good shape (with the exception of some fading, especially on the roof).
I already have a couple shops in mind, but I'd like to solicit feedback from the forum to find out if there are other good body shops out there that I should consider. I'd preferably like to find a shop in the New England/Northeast area. Also, if anyone has any estimates on what I could expect to pay for such a job, I'd welcome that info as well.

I've heard good things about Dattco's body shop in Middletown, CT. It sounds like there are others elsewhere, but I'm not sure where.

I can't say much about them for myself since I never really inspected our buses that have gotten in accidents up close enough to tell, but there doesn't seem to be anything to complain about. Whether it's servicing or body work, they get the job done in a timely manner. |

I haven't used them myself nor seen anyone that has, but thomas86_a had this applied to his '86 Thomas/IHC and seemed pleased with the results. Shoot him an email perhaps. |

I've thought about using this product, too, Mike. Knowing that thomas86_a tried it on his bus, I should contact him. I don't know of anyone else (school districts/contractors included) that have used this product.
