If the engine is an EPA '07, it does have an exhaust flapper. - There should be a purple air-line running from the AMU (on the carrier bearing X-member) or a solenod valve on the firewall (just inboard of the treadle valve) to the exhaust flap just downstream from the turbo. Pressurize the line with about 20# of shop air to see if the valve actuates. This is a pass/fail test for the valve. - Valve passes? Then power up the module on the AMU that you just pulled the purple air line from. Does the(module)solenoid valve actuate. This is a pass/fail test. - If the solenoid valve passes, then you are not getting signal from the ECM to the valve. Have your dealer get the pin out from DDCSN. The signal should come from the large round connector by the ECM. Beware, that wire also controls the input for the engine fan air solenoid. |
I may not know the answer but I can usually find who does. |
