In the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks, has your school district canceled any of its field trips?

Nope. Business as usual, at least it is regarding trips. Joe

Nope, all sporting events on Sept. 11 were canceled, but all events from Sept. 12 went on as scheduled after that.
If you live in fear, and are afraid to do the things you did normally before Sept. 11 the terrorist will have succedded. We must go on and continue our daily life's the way we did before Sept. 11

I believe my district cancelled events scheduled for 9/11. After that, it was "back to normal." Not too sure about the close by districts.

All events for that day and the few after were cancelled, but they were rescheduled for another time. Amazingly, our Washington DC trip wasn't cancelled. It's supposed to take place in April.

We cancelled on 9/11 aswell but everything was back to normal after that. Some area schools also cancelled on 9/12. Sports events were cancelled for the duration of the week.

Our District cancelled all athletic and regular field trips for Sept. 11-15. After that, it is pretty much back to normal, except we have tightened security: all staff must wear current ID badges at all times while on duty, and all school sites are "locked down" so there is definitely only one entrance/exit open during school hours.

I have an elementary school that just today has cancelled a field trip to downtown Chicago for this coming Tuesday. That came about after the announcement yesterday that there could be more attacks.
I guess hearing it announced on the television and the radio was enough to put people on edge again. My feeling is that it has been a real threat since September 11th.
In a small way (one small group of people) the terrorists have gotten what they want. But a lot of small ways add up to a big way.
