Today, as my driver was dropping off students at one of the last stops, a person in a small car tried to pass us on the right side of the bus. Needless to say, I grabbed the clipboard and flew to the back, writing down the plate and the make and model. I flew up to the front and my driver called in the information to our safety manager. The funny thing is that when the driver tried to pass us, there was a Sheriff's deputy right infront of us!!

Input please on this situation.

That happens everywhere. 1 day there was a state trooper in front of other cars and he just passed through while the bus still had the ambers flashing and when the stop sign came out, 2 of the cars went through. I tried getting the license plate numbers but both cars were going too fast.

You didn't say, but did the sheriff's deputy pull the car over?

I never realized how stupid other motorists could be until I started driving a school bus!

Good job getting the plate. I hope the cop got the dummy, too.

Punishment for stop-arm runners: All buses, bus fanatics, bus drivers, parents and bus students should be allowed to converge on every dumb soul in the U.S./Canada at the same time or whenever they please, to tell them that what they did was illegal and unsafe, and that stop-arm runner should lose his license forever.

Give me a yellow object. Yes. Right now. I need my yellow chocolate, for goodness sake!

No, the deputy didn't pull the guy over, unfortionately.

Too bad the on-board 800mhz two ways don't connect to the VHF sheriff frequencies!! (Wouldn't that be fun!)
