Our OBI's will take a new hire and the first task they perform is the pre-trip inspection of the unit. The OBI teaches the new driver how to perform this task to the state requirement. After this, the OBI will take the new hire on the road to evaluate the drivers ability to control and handle the bus. This is done on open highway, in town, and country roads in a variety if driving conditions as available. When the OBI is comfortable with this, they will then start to practice going over rail road grade crossings, and simulated student pick up and drop off's. When the new driver successfully completes these tasks, the OBI will set up the manuvebility courses with traffic cones and allow the driver to practice until comfortable. After all this is done, the OBI will schedule a time with a test center and takes the new driver to the test center. Upon passing the tests, the OBI will sign off on the paper work and provided the driver has purchased his new CDL's with the proper endorcements, and the OBI is confident that the applicant has the capibilities to perform the job, he or she is hired as a new driver.
