Hello friends.

This morning, it was 40 degrees outside, and our buses heat was on. It is a 1996 Thomas Saf-T-Liner MVP EF. The "SCHOOL BUS" sign was lighted (it's a backlit version).

I noticed that where the wiring for the fan (which is just below the "SCHOOL BUS" sign door), was leaking, through it's insulation tubing. This water was pouring all over and onto the two-way radio and vents.

I was curious to know if anyone knows why, and if has happened before. I think it could be from the condensation, since it was not raining today. (Note: it rained heavily on Friday/Saturday/Sunday)

Sounds like left over stuff from the rains to me. The seals around the back-lit sign could be the problem, but I'd check the clearance light seals first. The will leak if not installed well. May need to put some silicone type sealer there to cure the problem. After repairs have someone put a water hose on the sign and lights out side the bus with your inside access panel open while you check for leaks on the inside.
