When ever I do a brake job I used to pick the drum up and install that way . As I have gotten older and wiser I went and used a floor jack . That worked great for a while . Only problem is the drum wants to roll off and makes it hard to hold on to . Now that I am getting older I am wondering about a different method . I see that OTC makes a couple drum handlers . Do any of you use them and if so which one and why ? If you have other Ideas pass them on . Thanks

We have used the OTC 5017A for many years. Simple design, nothing fancy, just works. I can’t say there may not be anything better, because I have not needed to try anything different.

we ave a drum jack works good(OTC), but has its issues( hang up on dirt has crap wheels, IH works good,C2 have to work it, ETC) , I have an old seat belt with handles on it , so I just bend over at waist and lift straight up with my arms to my chest then slide it on , it replicates a piece of gym equipment that i use

OEM trained in wiring and all engine platforms for over 20 years

I use the OTC 5017. It's been a no brainer for handling drums. We put tubes in the tires, refill them maybe once a year.
