We are having issues with drivers and the transpec covers . Some of our drivers are small and petite . They are getting injured closing them after opening to let air in . I tried greasing the plungers but has been little help . Some of them are 10 or more years old . Has anybody come up with a quick fix . I am wondering if I need to rebuild the hatches .I am thinking the plastic is getting rough inside where the plunger goes . Thanks

It could be, however what we have found is if you close them from side to side instead of front to back, they close a little easier.

I agree with Ron. If you are thinking of rebuilding, I wouldn't. I have found that the plastic is cracking on the outside on mine. I just replace the whole thing.

I feel like you already do this, but usually you can purchase just the rubber seal around the roof hatch? we remove old hatches from graveyard busses to use when we need to replace specific parts for the rebuild and not an entire hatch assembly.

The seals are available if you have a leaker, but I too find the hatches cracked from time to time.
