I am seeking information on school districts in Tennessee regarding wages and hours. I have driven for 19+ accident-free years in California and am considering a move to the Kingsport, Tn. area. I have heard the wages can be as low as $6/hr or up to $14/hr but I would appreciate some feedback regarding this from any knowledgeable persons. Thanks very much!

Well, I'm in the Johnson City , TN area (just south of Kingport), and the wages probably vary per school district. You could try contacting a district in the area:
Kingsport Schools Trans Department: 1-(423)-378-2105

I was a bus driver in Williamson County - Franklin, TN. I drove 7 years and started out at $10.22 and when I left in 2001 i was making $15.71 per hour. This district offers medical and dental benefits, Credit Union Options, 12 month salary disribution, and there are other great benefits. You can contact them at:
