Does anyone have any templates for making a sheet for a bid for equipment to send to certain distributors? How do bids work? I'd like to have some distributors make a "bid" for prices on the equipment I'd like for my bus. I was trying to order some LEDs from CRS, but they won't sell to an individual since they won't be buying in bulk. So, I was going to send bids to some of their distributors in the USA to look professional and also find the best deal. Thanks!

Bus Boy, I think you'd be better served to buy off of an existing bid from a current customer of a bus that you like to buy. That may be easier said than done, but I think if you bid only one bus out that you may not get them to respond. That is especially true if you plan to deviate from the "norm" in terms of equipment and specifications. Don't get me wrong, I hope everyone bids for you, I just don't see it happening. Joe

No, they may not reply, but it's worth a try! I have other alternatives, but I'd like to try this just to see what happens. Is there a certain way most bids are written up? I'm not sure if I'm even describing this all right... lol

Keep in mind that I may be misunderstanding the whole thing here... Or may be thinking of a completely different thing.

Are you just looking to bid out parts or an entire bus? I'm not sure I'm reading this right.
If you want parts prices, I would highly recommend you go to an aftermarket supplier for things like lights, switches, seat covers and so on. They have always been cheaper than our bus distributors, and they usually will sell to anybody. Prices generally are set , unless you are buying mass quantity, then they might come down a bit. Just ask the price and they will tell.
Now if you want to bid an entire bus...well...that's a different story! if you go to www.wardbuses.com you can find a pre-fab bid sheet for different International buses.
Yes, that's my bus. No, you can't drive it. |

Just parts. I've decided against it, but hey, it was worth a try. I'm just gonna try to find the products somewhere since the company won't sell them to me.
