My vote for the scariest holiday is definitely not Halloween, but rather St. Valentines Day. That is the day when elementary students bring their crafts home -construction paper hearts, drawings..handmade cards for their mom. The slightest breeze can free them from their hands and send them chasing after it. They also can forget the item on their bus seat, and remember it as they leave the bus. I hope no one had any close calls yesterday.. I'm thankful we didn't! LM

That would be scary for a bus driver, but what about when if you have thouse ghouls and goblins on the bus? Just checking!

I agree, especially when students have balloons which can block your vision or get popped by other students! AND when you tell students that it is not safe to bring those things on the bus, the crying and sobbing which happens really worries me!

Oh yes.......All that crap that the elementary students bring,like food and crafts.........And then the massive,really expensive stuff that the older ones get....It's scary.

In our district we are required to tell the students that They cannot bring ballons or vases of flowers on the bus. They either have to leave them at school or arrange for other transportation home.
I will agree that Valentine's day can get out of hand. The teachers hype the children up on chocolate and candy and then for good measure send more on the bus with them Where we have to tell them a million times to put the candy up and to turn around and sit down. By the time you get them home the bus is covered in candy, paper and valentines.
But come to think of it.. I just love Christmas and the gingerbread houses the children make and take home....and Easter all the lovely green Easter grass...and Mother's Day all the lovely potted plants that the kids have grown..and Halloween which has more candy. Of course CANDY is a major item for all parties.

Me? I'm mean, nasty, inconsiderate, etc. I make the little darlings put thier candy away. If I see someone eating a sucker, it goes into the trash! And I pull off the side of the road, too!
On a lighter note, I had one high school boy bring roses, a teddy bear, and a box of candy for one of the high school girls. The funny thing is that she almost makes 2 of him! she'n not really overweight, she's taller than him, and big boned.
Boy, try doing these posts when you're nodding off at the keyboard.......zzzzzzzzzz!

Speaking of candy, one of the drivers in my district thought that it would be nice to give the kids a can of JOLT cola and some lik-um sticks (solid sugar) [u]BEFORE [[u]school, and see how they like getting wired children to deal with! LM

You know I hated when they came out with all the stuff too! I always worried about them choking on the candy that they get from the partys they have!
