Hello all-

Wondering what y'all have done to remedy water leaks (and subsequent rusting) where the cutaway chassis roof meets with the bus body, right above the windshield.

Give me your thoughts- the bus is a Minotour, BTW.

Thanks!

What year Minotour? I know the later model Minotours have an isolator between the cab and bus body. Collins also does this. Helps prevents the flex of the cab and body from causing cracks and leaks.

Most techs dump a lot of caulk in the area, best best is to remove the original caulking from the factory as best you can then reseal. Over time the original caulking cracks due to the flex and that's where the leaks start. You can also put sealant on the inside of the roof cap if you can access it.

By the way, here is what I mean when I say isolator...

Between the chassis cab/windshield and roof cap there is a trim piece with rubber that flexes with body movement to prevent leaks and cracks.

It is a 1995 model. Still a heck of a bus....they built 'em solid. This is the only issue with it.
