Hello all. I'm working on a 1997 International 3800 with a 7.3 diesel. With the engine running and your foot on the brake, if you turn the ignition switch off, it stays running. Also noticed with the engine and ignition off, if you depress the brake pedal, the instrument cluster gauges cycle and numerous lights come on. Any ideas?

Check; the grounds on the brakelights, for defective bulbs and possibly look for a failed diode that is supposed to prevent backfeeding.
Also check for wiring modifications that may have effected the OEM circuits.
Why yes, the ORIGinal CHARGER is a Fastback

Wrong bulb in one of the brake lamps. i.e. 1156 where a 1157 should be.

Found a shorted diode under the steering column! Thanks for the help!

I've notice whenever I get a "water in fuel" lamp it's usually water filling up the plastic tubing around the diode under the dash allowing backfeed. Gotta love those 2003 IC/BB conventionals every one we had leaked water at the windshield.
