|
is there any way other than taking apart the complete front cooling system, ie: fan clutch, should, ect to replace fan belt.
My hands are all torn up trying to do it with out removing such? |

| I remember changing a broken a/c bracket on one of these. That fan will slice you open. I ended up pulling the intercooler and radiator. |

I never saw how. I just repaced our belt for the first time at 170,000 miles but it still looked decent.
I got into ours because the vacuum pump had gotten noisy. I replaced the water pump, tensioner, thermostat, 2 idler pullies, vacuum pump and belt while I was in there. I removed the top part of shroud, lifted out the radiator and intercooler as one piece. Unbolted the "turbinator" (i think its called) from front of engine and slid it forward, then I used an air chisel on one of the wrench flats of fan clutch and "burped" it loose. After unscrewing and removing fan and clutch you can slide turbinator out of the way. |

Pretty much easier to pull the radiator intercooler fan and shroud we do a couple every summer to change ac compressor. The double ac set up we have from Us Bus is great whats even more fun is when you get it all back together and you see the belt laying on the floor  |

If it breaks, well, it needed replacing anyway.
