Okay, quick question about changing the light bulb that illuminates the gearshift indicator on a Ford bus with the car-style column shifter...... must I pull the steering wheel to get to that bulb?
I do know that I can take the cover off the indicator, but there appears to be no way to get the bulb out from there.
I have changed them before but it has been a long time. I think you do have to pull the wheel then the indicator slips out toward you. It's not that big of a deal to pull the wheel, so I'd say git-r-done!!
Yes you must pull the wheel in order to change that light bulb. And I'd say yes it is worth the fix because sometimes those Ford columns don't exactly shift into whatever gear you need the vehicle in and in the dark that can be a pain sometimes trying to find Neutral lol.

You can get replacement shift column bushings from ford. They are easy to change and help with the slop . Just dont ovetroque the holddonw clamps on the bearing caps.
