I have a 1996 model t444e in a thomas that is leaking fuel out the bell housing. When it sits overnight there will be about 2 or three cups of fuel on the ground under the bell housing. I see nothing leaking on the top of the engine. I looked around the high pressure fuel lines at the rear of the transfer pump and cannot see any leaks on them. The bus is hard to start when hot too, I am beginning to think that there is a leak that is allowing air into fuel side of the high pressure system. Am I on the right track here?
Anybody have an idea as to where this leak may be?
There is a weep hole in the fuel supply pump which is impossible to see with mirrors. It will drain through the bell housing like an oil leak as shown in the previous video. Replace the pump and all the fuel hoses. This job is lots of fun in a Ford E350 rescue unit. Step one is remove the passenger seat...........
If it doesn't fit, FORCE it. If it breaks, well, it needed replacing anyway. Pullin' wrenches for 45 years.

IBTMech, thanks so much for the pointer! I did not realize that the lift pump had a weep hole, but it makes sense that it does. It was the supply pump leaking.
The most common fuel leaks from the valley on a t444e are fuel pump weep hole . The 3 metal fuel tubes that go to the filter housing get a hole worn in them by their separator clamp. Then the very hard to spot sensor on the bottom of the fuel filter housing blows its seal and drips. It looks like and oil pressure sensor. and is pointed towards the power steering pump. Ive seen people change the fuel pumps several times because they didnt wash out the valley and inspect where the actual leak is coming from. In 2001 there was a rash of bad fuel pumps that piston seals leaked in zub zero weather until the seals warmed up.
