I have always been told that students are not to have glass objects on school buses. I've also been told this is a federal rule. If anyone knows this rule, rule # or anything else about it, can you please let me know?
Funny how policy becomes law when you've lived with it long enough :-) Not a federal law. The issue may have been instituted at your site from district policy, or possibly began as company policy. It should be easy for you to find out the origin.
For what it's worth, it's State Law in Michigan. There's a line in the law books: "Glass containers and animals are not to be permitted on school buses." Or something along those lines anyway.
I know that we are not permitted to have any plastic or glass containers on our buses becasue several years ago there was a high speed bus crash due to a container roling down the aisle and getting lodged beneath the brake pedal.
