It's hard for me to figure out why. The public drivers feel that they dont have to follow the rules of the road. And when bus drivers do follow the rules . The public thinks that we are at fault. Example!!! Left turn lanes. With double soild yellow lines, small enter area for left turn area ,only holds two cars, while the public still lines up over the double yellow lines. I wait my turn to get in the small area where i need to be. Signal on and they try to block me out. If they hit me while they are over the double yellow lines,It's there fault. But, when you push through ,They honk and give you the finger. Not fair. I do whats right. Any examples!!!Or same problem?.

OMG...I"m so happy someone finally said it. I hate that. It happens at least once per day that some idiot flips me off for impeding his progress into the turn lanes. It gets so bad its even to the point that they flip us the bird for not riding on the shoulder when making a right turn, or even honking at us when we slow down in a school zone. OF COURSE I"M GOING TO SLOW DOWN IN A SCHOOL ZONE...I"M DRIVING A SCHOOL BUS!!!!!

It pisses me off when I see people giving the finger to school buses, what if there are little children on board they don;t need to be learning these notions at such a young age, of course around here, just 20 mins from D.C., flipping the bird is as common as waving at someone!

By the way, when I am driving my car, I ALWAYS give the bus the right away, and I always follow speed limit, I am stil young, so if I got cought speeding, my insurance would SKY ROCKET!!! I do the same, in scholol zones,, I always take it down a few notches, you know why, (for all you who don't follow this) IT IS THE FREAKING LAW, and if not followed you are putting young childrens lives and busloads of children at risk!

I get frustrated about everyday at one intersection I have to cross in the Afternoon. I am on a Highway 2 lines divided by a median I am heading south and I want to cross the north bound lane and go down a road this road is on both side of the highway. So I enter into the turn lane to cross the north bound lane while sitting waiting for it to clear for me to cross people sitting on the non-highway road decide they got enough time to get in this cross over but what happens is they then block me from going and then they can't see because my big bus is blocking there view of who is heading south because the turnover is not big enough for me to get in with out sticking out in the middle of the highway. So then they finally go and I see my chance to start to go well next thing I know the other car from the other side of the non-highway road decides he's going to cut me off and cross the whole highway and head down the same road I am. I have nearly three times where I start to go and I see this car totally cut me off and I have to slam my brakes from driving in to their side. In our state law I got the right of way because I am still on the highway and there trying to enter. So I am just starting to watch for these idots who like to cut me off because there car can get across but a big bus can't.

I had another one I had the green light to cross the a highway I am cross and I see this car go flying down the turn lane to head on the street I am heading he has a yeild sign I am like I know he not going to yeild well he jumps infront of me and he abrutly stops which cuased me to hit my brakes in the middle of the intersection he decided to totally blow the light my merging off the highway and then getting back on but stopping in the middle road and then almost getting reeneded by me for stopping abrutly to make an illegal left hand turn into a merge lane. That really ticked me off meanwhile my bus and cars behind me are sitting in a intersection with a light turning yellow because he decides to make his own dirving laws.

I hate it when well meaning motorists motion for me to go first at a stop sign when it's clearly not my turn. If everyone just paid attention and followed the regular rules it would all flow smoother.

Oh yea, plenty of those in my area! Just yesterday someone got pissed off, even though it was his fault! Heres's how the story goes. My bus was stopped behind some other buses waiting at the traffic light. There was this guy in a pickup that was in the turn lane to get into Publix. When the other buses started moving, we did also. Yet, the truck made the decison to try and cut us off. Seeing this, the bus driver hit the brakes. Then the pickup driver hit his brakes thinking he was going to hit us. So my bus proceded forward, but once again, the truck tried cutting us off, then stopped. When the bus passed the pickup, I looked into the window to see the driver giving an angry look to my bus driver. In my head I was thinking, "Whoa, wait a minute! WE have the right to go first, So YOU need to stop for US!"

I cross those double yellow lines when entering a turning lane as long as it is safe to do so, there tend to be a lot of the left turn lanes that are only long enough to hold a couple cars, yet the double yellow line length is nearly as long, I try to avoid holding up other vehicles who are going straight through the intersection.

You folks need to relax some when you are driving, you're going to give yourself a stroke or something.
more, be and try not to be to at the way others react to your professional style of driving.
