Today I was behind a International Blue Bird, about a 1994 or so. Two things I noticed about this bus were: when the driver activated the ambers and opened the door and the reds came on, the buses clearence lights would shut off. They would come on about a minute later. I thought that was kinda strange. Maybe there was a short somewhere?

Another thing I noticed about the buses was that they rear view mirrors on the outside were two different kinds. The right side {where the driver sits looking from behind} were the two, double nickle I believe. The right side {by the door} was one whole mirror seen on buses older then 1990. I thought that was strange. Did they spec the bus like that?

Not an electrical expert but on the mirrors they could have speced either type at the time, most likely what happened is that the double nickle mirrors on one side were broke and they just used an old flat mirror for a replacement. I think Blue Bird made double nickles standard at some point during the mid-90's. Thomas still uses the west coast style with the large flat and 8in. convex as standard equipment, most upgrade to double nickles.

Our Blue Birds came with just the flat mirrors up till 1993, in 1995 we started specing heated double nickles.

If you have an International, you NEED customer service.
