I have been in this field for 41 years . Last week while my wife laid dying in a hospital I was told to go home . A week later the called me and gave me 5 reasons why I was being terminated . I was told why and wasn't asked if any of any of the things I was accused of doing were true . My supervisor told the Superintendent what she thought was true and the Superintendent decided I was done . I have held 2 jobs in my 62 years on this earth .35 as a supervisor / mechanic and 7 years as a mechanic . They brought a guy into the shop after I was terminated to do my job . This same guy has been after the district to give him more hours since the start of school . Sounds like he got his wish finally . He was trying lots of ways to make them cave in . The union has filed a grievance and we will see . A part of me wants to have the grievance granted and quit just to clear my name . The other Is to go back clear my name and leave on my terms I have never had my eyes blackened by what I do . Very cold Superintendent . I told him while he was meeting with me to save my job I was being told by the hospital to plan an end life . I have not heard a word from my boss regarding this and I hope to not hear . I have not heard a word from the district other than he and his wife the Superintendent will say a prayer .My boss called my daughter that night I was terminated and said she was sorry and hung up . I worry if all goes well having to go back and work with her . She is always saying that she needs to always be truthful . Well now I know she doesn't live by that .Or least she thinks she told the truth . All I can say is these bosses don't live in the real world like us They make over a hundred grand and think we are overpaid and under worked . The Superintendent said I embarrased him in the community .He gave me 2 choices . Quit right now or take a leave of absence until August 31 and resign and keep my benefits . So I took the latter . I can't believe at 62 years of age I am looking for work .Some pf you saw this coming so I had to fill everyone in .They did let me pick up my personal stuff but only if someone watched me to make sure I clean he place out . The only problem is I forgot 3 tools and need to go back. This time the Superintendent will watch me . I asked if I could take a witness and he told me no because he thinks it's to discuss the grievance . Sound like he has done this before . I wonder if I should turn them into L&I for poor working conditions!!!! Nobody should have to work like I did
