Hello, working on an 05 IC RE Bus DT 466. Problem is that every time you accelerate the bus squeals like a loose belt. Take foot off of pedal and it goes away. It does not squeal at idle upon acceleration. Changed belt and one idler pulley bearings and still does the same thing. Tested all other pulleys and didnt find any problems. Belt is on tight and tensioner seems to be fine. Am I missing anything?
Just becaues it happened to us check your exhaust bolts to see if they are tight. We had an exhaust bolt broken sounded like a belt squealing. We did all that you did and replaced the bolt and all was good.
Turns out that it was a turbo mounting gasket. It had burned through and the exhaust leak resulted in a belt squealing sound when applying acceleration. A check of the records shows this has happened before. Is there anything I could do to stop this gasket from blowing out? Or is this a problem elsewhere in the exhaust system? Thanks for the replies.
