I over heard a male driver talking /bragging about some of his female students he transports. Personally some of these comments my skin crawl. I am not sure if this guy is a pervert, lonely, desiring attention, or what. But I don't feel that is was appropiate even off of the clock. Since I am another dirver, I don't want to make a false accusation , because he is a safe driver and his kids like him. At this time I am not sure what to do... but if he had talked about one of my students likethat I would have freaked.

He commented that his high school girls were rubbing on him as they go off of the bus, flashing him, etc... but when he said that yea some of them look older than they are are pretty well endowed..describing breast braa nd waist size. I was petrified. He also went on to say that some of his parents were might fine looking... bragging that he said this in front of the students on the bus. Another of his comments were about if he was a few years younger or these girls werw loder he would be interested.

Question how would you all handle this? Am I over reacting or is this guya pervert? have you ever heard any other male drivers talk like this??

I am not sure I posted this on two forums.. but can you all give me some feed back.. thanks.

I will have to agree with mlkdrives41. We ho;d a responsibility to the CHILDREN to PROTECT them. Even if the guy was joking it is very inappropriate. I would advise the supervisor and if it continues I would go above that. Here in Ohio legally we have to report anything that would be considered abuse or neglect. I would say this guy needs some help. They are CHILDREN and even if they look older he knows they aren't.

I'll chime in and agree with Mlkdrives41 and Busrepair, this has got to be reported to the powers that be.

We had a male driver some years ago who liked his students too much, if you know what I mean. He's long gone now.

This could turn into a dangerous game if it isn't stopped now.

Yes, that's my bus.
No, you can't drive it.

I agree that your T/D should be informed. On the good side, however, and I'm probably mistaken, (though I hope not) maybe these girls are trying out thier feminine wiles on him and he is poorly expressing his feelings of flattery.

I agree with everyone but kd4jd,

I may just be a school bus enthusiast, but I really love little kids and work at a place to be around little kids. I'm 16, but like everyone else has said, report this guy. He has no business even around a school bus. He is a pervert and has no business around school children. That guy disgusts me. I wouldn't be surprised if he had child porn on his computer at home. I have never thought of a younger girl in that way and he shouldn't be either. Report this guy. If I was his supervisor, and I found out about this, I would fire him on the spot. Make him hand me his bus keys and say, "Hit the road, Jack!"

The dude is a big mouth idiot. His mouth will eventualy distroy him. When it does there is a good chance your name will come up. It is best to be out of harms way at this time. If your report does't result in his removal, at least it may get you off his list of people to brag to. Shalom-dave

Sup draatz,

I think you should play it cool... Yes I think you should report him because he should not be talking about sexual things about his female students nor around his students. I think you should do what you thinks is best. The ball is in your court for now, if your guts feeling say report him than do it. When any drivers weather they are male/female drivers is talking sexual about any of his/her students have no business on a bus period! Also you want to report him ASAP, no telling what his sexual comments can lead to next! I'm a 20 years old driver and I know better not to talk sexual around any my students or to any minor period! I had one female student that use to talked foul to me about sexual things, at first I gave her an warning not to talk to me like that. The next day she did it again and I wrote her up, she was kick off my bus for four days I believe. She never rode my bus again. So this guy have no excuses what so ever he could have done the same thing by giving the female students a warning, if that didn't work write them up period!

What a low life dirtbag. He may be the safest driver around but God knows that he should be fired. Anybody talking about sexual "things" (couldn't find the right word), especially when it comes to kids, should be in deep dog sh!t. How dare he!

I agree with the majority here - I think he should be reported. There is no excuse for the way he's acting and talking about those female students in the manner that he is.

I've been around my fair share of creeps, and unfortunately, I've even had a couple of them as bus drivers growing up. If you really feel that there's something not right about the person or what they're doing, by all means, tell your supervisor! It'll be worth it in the long run.

Better to be safe than sorry.

I mentioned earlier about how I love little kids. I'll give you an example how I am with one little girl I dearly love. I love this one little girl who is 12 years old. I have known her since she was 8. I am 16, now. I let her drive my ol' Jeep across a pasture near her home. I hoping one day, she'll reach back in her file, think of me and smile. Maybe she'll say something like, "It was just an old worn out Jeep, rusty old floorboards, hot on my feet. A young girl, two hands on the wheel. I can't replace the way it made me feel. I would turn it right, steer it left, he'd say, 'Straighten up girl, now you're doin' just fine.' Just a little valley by the creek where we'd ride. But I was high on a mountain, when Ryan let me drive."

What do you think about this?

Ryan, I'm not quite sure why you put that on this thread, but what you're describing is definitely different from the first post. With the girl, you're a mentor, just an older friend. With the bus driver and the students, it was clearly sexual, and that is unacceptable.

Phil, I was describing the most appropiate kind of way to be around young children. To be their mentor, their friend, not any kind of sex partner like this bus driver wants. Draatz, is they're any more news regarding this driver?

ONCE AGAIN, Draatz... SAY SOMETHING!!! This man could be dangerous... or a perv.

It is good to protect the children, and when reported this person should be removed from a position of responsibility over them. Is he a pedaphile? I think not. A sex criminal hides, and attacks his victim when least expected. Any bragging would be to other deviants. As I said before, this man is a big mouth idiot. His statement was unproffesional, and can not be tolorated in a profession such as ours. His behavior would be more indicative of an common laborer, or partime industrial worker, or national political leader. shalom dave

EVERYONE THANK YOU FOR YOUR FEED BACK AND SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!
I guess I just needed a bit of a kick in the ole pants. When I posted this on the site, I was so darn PO'D, I couldn't find my way through it, and with everyone's help and support (which I knew you all would come thru) I reported this to my lot manager. This is an update to the earlier post.

I reported the comments to my lot supervisor, and was told that because it was "over-heard" and " hear-say" not much taht she could do. I further discussed( actually yelled) that this guy shouldn't be around children, if he gets " his jollies off" if they brush against him to the point that he has to BRAG about it to a driver. Then this supervisor asked me to divuldge the name of the driver the Perv was having the convo with," so she could follow up". COmon is it really this darn hard to get something done?????

Fact after the convo with the lot manager he was called in riprimanded and written up with the notice that if there were any complaints from drivers or parents he would be terminated.

I think he should have been terminated for the statements in the first place. But that is the difference between a whimp TD and Hard A-s like me!!!

Again thanks for your input .

draatz,

Hearsay throws me a bit, since you heard the statements with your own ears and reported the behavior "first-person." Hearsay would be you reporting what somebody else said he said.

I'm not into witch-hunts and this situation could have easily escalated to a witch-hunt mentality. It's not often lately that I agree with the administration, but on this issue I agree the administration took the appropriate steps. (jk)

Draatz,
I've heard quite a bit of "Guy talk", from the early stages of the male ego to the elder forms of it. Heck'man I've been there myself ... wanting to top the tall tales of others. We would hope his words were in that context, and harmless. (His being a good driver and all).
However, if you were there from the start of that conversation (that "you" or "another" has over heard), and "the driver" seems obsessed over the activities that he's bragging about, and it never stops ... relentless. Report it! Try this. You don't have to put up with any unwelcomed and unwanted conversation or activity in the work place.
This way you won't be implying the guy may be short a few marbles, or may become dangerous. The "subject matter" of what makes you uncomfortable, should ring enough bells to draw attention to him. Not that he isn't already doing that to himself. I think this should alleviate you from the predicament, of making a false accusation.

I tell'ya, some peepulz kids!

This driver seems to be more of a peer to his students and wants to be accepted as one of them rather than an adult commanding their respect and leadership. A driver like this who shows such inappropriate behavior will only bring the good reputation of all other bus drivers down to a level where parents will have to question the integrity of all those who transport their families.
