Wondering if someone could assist in diagnosing a rooftop strobe problem with me. The strobe unit is getting power, as I hear clicking noises in it when power is to it, however, the strobe tube does not flash. Could that be a bad strobe tube, or something else?

I don't know what's clicking, but the problem could be the transformer, the main capacitor, or (obviously) any other part of the circuitry that produces high voltage. Can you get a meter on the low voltage part of the circuit without getting a shock from the capacitor before the tube?
If so, start at the beginning and see where the 12 volts is going.

| I used to replace the bulbs in these but after replacing a few and then a couple weeks later something else going out I have just been replacing the entire unit. If you are getting power there then that is the quickest fix, easiest, & surest fix.. |

| I agree with bwest, don't mess with trouble shooting, just replace the whole unit. After a while everything starts going wrong with a strobe. Your better off to cut yor losses and replace it |
