Hey guys, just curious if anyone knows what ECU 128 & ECU 140 are codes for. Bus is a 2009 C2 that I drive daily. It's been throwing these two codes at me most of the week while high idling in the driveway during the mornings and then shutting off once the bus gets rolling for a few minutes. Thanks guys.

need the other two portions of the code. when you get to DIAG 1 or DIAG 2, hold the button until it beeps and then tap it 1x to get to a SID or PID ### and 1x again to get to a FAIL ##. Looks like you have two active ones.

Are you taking about the button on the cluster that pages thru the mileage/hours & such? I'm sure one of those two codes will pop up again next week at some point and if that's the case with the button then I'll try that and see what other numbers it can give me. Thanks bcressey!

Well figured I better give ya'll an update. Dang bus hasn't thrown any codes at me all this past week (go figure). Unlike last week where it gave me one of the two codes every morning. So I will still keep my eye on it to find out what the DIAG #s read. Or maybe I'll get lucky and it won't throw any more codes for a long time.

Well got an update - was waiting in line today at the pump and the check engine lite came on. Got a code of ECU 128 51D 518. Does this make sence to anyone or what does it even mean?

You need to get this unit on a computer with the proper software. Also see your dealer to get a booklet that has most fault codes in it. The booklet is what I have. Not always the best, but better than nothing.

Hope this helps. Good luck

PS. that code is not in my booklet. Sorry

Looks like an engine code (ECU-128)
What engine does it have? I am suspecting an EGR MBE900.
MBE-900 System Identifier 518 (SID-128) indicates an EGR Valve Issue.
What is the FMI (Failure/Fault Mode Indicator) number? It should be 2 digits, typically 01 through 06.

I may not know the answer but I can usually find who does.

Engine is a MBE906, and if memory serves me the 2-digit code was like 02.

Doesn't matter at the moment now anyway, bus is OOS til further notice, caught fire this morning thanks to the starter freaking out and burning up.

Driving voids the warranty you know. Glad nobody got hurt, that is what counts!
