Back up alarm on C2 just starts going off by itself during the weekend. Key is off and out of bus. I think water may be grounding out something in the chassis module but am unsure. It has happened when it is raining or snowing. Any ideas would be helpful. Email brad@lewisbusgroup.com.

What is the satus of the following:
Gear Selector position?
Reverse Lights? on or off
Possible shorted "High" to constant hot source (dome lights)to:
provide power direct to alarm.
provide input to trigger Activate "Reverse" on CHM. |
I may not know the answer but I can usually find who does. |

Like Justin said-
Are the reverse lights on too?
Opening the emergency should set off the lights and b/u alarm, key/on or key/off.
Might be a door switch that is set too close to the on position, gets cold and acts like the door was opened.
Those Cheap Plastic switches have been replaced once each around here.
They both failed to turn on when they should. (2007s)

| Alarm does not sound on any of these buses when reverse door is opened and key off. Reverse lights only when door is opened. The bus can be shut completely down, neutral shift selection. Key out of ignition, doors all closed. A day later the back up alarm starts sounding by itself. Have had to disconnect at alarm to make quit. |

If it breaks, well, it needed replacing anyway.

Either the alarm is shorted to a constant hot power source or there is an input triggering it somewhere.
Have you pressure- washed the underside by the Allison NSBU lately? TranSyn suspends water & cross-shorts internal connections.
Is the transmission cable linkage & NSBU sychronized? An NSBU switch "thinking" reverse (w/selector in "N")could signal the input across the data-link.
What does Service-Link tell you?
Test one: - Swap out the rear emer door switch (input test - Yeah, I read you post about not programming it that way. Please humor me)
Test 2: Pull the fuse for the passenger dome light circuits. If this works, you have a short in your LH OH curtain harness.
- Passneger Dome lights are constant hot & in search of a ground @ the SHM FET.
- The short is likely at (a) the "B"-Pillar, (b) the rear wall or, (c) at a speaker. |
