Maybe its just me, but I just have to wonder; Will Thomas be able to sell the C2 in states like Pennsylvania where state specs require things like round 8 inch warning, brake, and turn lights?

Will they change the C2's futuristic look to follow state specs?

To your first question, yes. Word on the street is that a Thomas dealer that does business with PA is ordering a C2 for the state (not sure if it'll be a demo or if it'll be going to a district).

To your second question, no, I don't see that ever happening.

Due to the current economic condition, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off until further notice.

Thomas shouldn't have to chnage its design of the C2. If anything, PA should be changing their spec's. It's the government's job to regulate things for safety, and as long as one design achieves the visibility to effectively commincate a message to other motorists, the asthetics should not be an issue. The C2 has more lighted surface area on its lights than the standard 7" round lights. A business should be able to sell a product, even if it's out of the ordinary and of a different shape, as long as it communicates the same message.

apparently when some of the prototype C2's came to Pennsylvania last fall through this spring, the state apparently liked them from what i understand; from the Bus Company/Thomas Dealer. But as far as changing the spec's or anything, i can not comment nor could the Bus Company. and i've yet to see a C2 being bought by any company or district in PA. or even heard of any company or district in PA buying them.

my bus company now purchases IC's. they've basically given up on Thomas'. although i wish they wouldn't.

sometimes older is way better than new.
